Sustainability vision

At TestTafel, we strive to embed circular and sustainable practices into every element of our working and creating process.
Local and seasonal produce is the guiding factor of our changing menu.We utilise our growing network of Dutch, small-scale suppliers.
No-waste practices are used to celebrate circular food systems. Our fermentation lab turns waste into delicious ingredients, which can be seen on our menu every week.
Our openly collaborative efforts aim to work with creatives, local institutions and guests create educational opportunities to share our knowledge.

TestTafel as an Ambassador for
Biodiversiteit op je bord

TestTafel is now an official ambassador for Biodiversiteit op je Bord, an initiative founded by Dutch Cuisine in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture and the WWF. Their aim, which we share, is to transform hospitality through intentional sourcing. Our ethos has always been hyper-local and seasonal, so joining this mission was a natural fit. Our commitment to this cause is that at least 50% of everything we serve is now officially biodiversity-friendly. By protecting the planet’s "Life Support System," we’re securing a healthier food future, one plate at a time.

A Foundation with a Cause

Dining with us supports De Sering in rebuilding community through affordable vegan food and free space for neighbourhood initiatives.

What you pay for your meal assists in funding the accessibility of affordable meals at our community kitchens (De Sering West or De Sering Centraal) while enjoying an elevated culinary experience.
Donation Scale Concept

The donation scale starts at €48,50 and goes up to €85, with further donations always welcomed.

Pay what you can - contribute what you perceive your meal to be worth at TestTafel wasworth, and don't forget to leave feedback on your menu to also support our creative culinary practices at TestTafel.
€48.50: Nourish the Basics

With €48.50, you're covering the costs of ingredients and the minimum wage for labor.
€60: Sustain Our Vision

With €60, you're supporting the operation of our space, covering essential expenses like rent, utilities, and maintenance, enabling us to keep our doors open to the community.
€60-€85: Help us grow

Anything above €60 helps us to grow and improve, to invest in new equipment, expand capacity for our Community Kitchen, offer more sustainable wages for our staff and invest more time into planning our program.
€85: Plan a future

At €85, you're investing in our vision to open more locations, making wholesome meals and community space accessible to more people across the city and country.

Above €85, you’re truly dedicated to supporting our cause and allowing us to grow into a sociocratic network of facilities for the local community and beyond.
